Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 May 2026  ·  Effective from: 12 May 2026

The short version: We collect the financial and contact information you give us to deliver your coaching. We don't sell your data, we don't share it with advertisers, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

1. Who we are

QuidCoach is a personal finance coaching service operated by Stefan Malak, trading as QuidCoach, based in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Stefan Malak is the data controller.

If you have any questions about this policy or how your data is handled, please contact us at hello@quidcoach.com.

2. What data we collect

Information you give us

When you use QuidCoach, we may collect the following:

  • Contact details: your name and email address
  • Financial information: income, spending, savings, debts, and financial goals — as provided in your onboarding form and monthly check-ins. This is typically provided in ranges, not exact figures.
  • Correspondence: any emails or messages you send us
  • Newsletter sign-up: your email address if you subscribe to our free newsletter

Information collected automatically

Our website may collect standard technical data including your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This is used only to understand how the site is being used and to maintain its security.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not collect or store your card details. Stripe acts as an independent data controller for the purposes of payment processing. You can read Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/gb/privacy.

3. How we use your data

We use the information you provide to:

  • Deliver your monthly Financial Snapshot and coaching responses
  • Send you onboarding and check-in forms relevant to your subscription
  • Process and manage your subscription via Stripe
  • Respond to your questions and support requests
  • Send you the QuidCoach newsletter, if you've subscribed
  • Improve the quality of our coaching service

Legal basis for processing

Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Contract performance: processing your financial information and delivering coaching is necessary to provide the service you've subscribed to
  • Legitimate interests: for website analytics and service improvement
  • Consent: for sending marketing emails and newsletters — you can withdraw consent at any time by clicking "unsubscribe" in any email

4. How long we keep your data

We retain your coaching data (onboarding forms, monthly check-ins, financial snapshots) for as long as your subscription is active, and for up to 12 months after cancellation. This allows us to reinstate your service if you choose to return.

After 12 months post-cancellation, your financial data will be securely deleted.

Newsletter subscribers' data is held until you unsubscribe, after which it is removed within 30 days.

We may retain basic records (such as payment history) for up to 7 years where required by UK tax or accounting law.

5. Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers or third-party marketers.

We may share data with the following service providers, strictly to operate the service:

  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Google Workspace — email delivery and form processing (Google acts as a data processor on our behalf under standard contractual clauses)
  • Email marketing platform — if you subscribe to the newsletter (we will update this policy when a specific provider is selected)

We may disclose your data if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal request from a competent authority.

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access: you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification: you can ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure: you can ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Right to restriction: you can ask us to pause processing of your data
  • Right to portability: you can request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Right to object: you can object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Right to withdraw consent: where we rely on consent (e.g. newsletter), you can withdraw it at any time

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@quidcoach.com. We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

7. Cookies

Our website uses a small number of cookies to make it function correctly. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

We use a cookie consent banner to give you control over non-essential cookies. You can change your preferences at any time via the cookie settings link in the footer.

Essential cookies (required for the site to work) are set without consent, as permitted under PECR. These are:

  • Session cookies for basic site functionality
  • Cookies set by Stripe to process your payment securely

8. Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. Financial information is held within secure, access-controlled systems. However, no transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

QuidCoach is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify active subscribers by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
